Runga's next roaring success

A new decade brings a new focus to Boh Runga's covetable collections for the New Zealand Mint.

Inspired by her Chinese heritage and interest in the zodiac, Boh has designed six unique sterling silver pieces, each one representing the Year of the Tiger.

The tiger is the third sign in the Chinese Zodiac cycle, and it is a sign of bravery. Admired by the ancient Chinese as the sign that keeps away the three main tragedies of a household fire, thieves and ghosts it's key attributes are of physical power, grace, independence and courage.

Boh believes that there is a little bit of tiger in us all. Of course the collection is not only for those who are born under the sign. The tiger is a great totem to wear as it is a symbol of courage and adventure.

The collection also marks Runga's foray into ring design, with the feature piece being the Tiger Lovecat cocktail ring, complete with steely sapphire eyes and heart-shaped ears.
